Terms & Conditions

Thank you for choosing El Perro Parlour Pet grooming. Please read through and ensure you understand the terms and conditions

By making a booking and or attending, you accept and agree to the following terms. Please check this page regularly as these terms are subject to change and without notice.

Location

We are based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. Full address is 69 Orchard Street, Woodston, Peterborough, PE2 9AH. Please be aware that Orchard street is split in two so we are just off Grove street.

Parking

Please park in the drive behind the silver car and try not to block the pavement for pedestrians. Alternatively there is street parking on the opposite side with no double yellow lines

Arrival

On arrival please arrive promptly, ideally 5 minutes before to your appointment time and press the Ring doorbell button on the wooden gate. Please wait for me to come down. Do not enter without my presence. There can be a delay due to wifi and location of the parlour so please be patient.

Lateness

If you’re more than 15 minutes late for your pets appointment – without notice, the appointment may be rescheduled and you may be charged. If you think you may be late please call us to advise. I work 1-2-1 so I cannot accept the next pet until the previous pet has left.

Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy

A 48 hour reschedule notice is required if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Any appointments changed or cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment time will be subject to a reschedule fee of 50% charge of what your pet was booked in for. This must be paid before another appointment can be made.

No Show Policy

Any no show or missed appointments with no attempt to contact me will be subject to a missed appointment fee equal to 100% charge of what your pet was booked in for. This must be paid before another appointment can be made.

Payment

Full payment must be made on day of service. Ideally on collection via cash, card or Bacs. If someone else is collecting then please ensure they have a method of payment or you have paid in advanced. Remember, non-payment is theft of service as well as disrespectful. This will be met with a letter of invitation to the small claims court to recover cost of the groom, court fees and late fees.

Bookings

When booking please book in advance as much as possible. It is recommended to book the next groom after each appointment to avoid disappointment and keep your pet on a regular grooming schedule.

Prices

A FROM quote is sometimes given before the appointment as a guide and is subject to change due to coat condition, size, style and temperament

There is also an extra charge for fleas and excessive matting

Dematting Policy

Dogs that are matted (extreme knotting) will not be dematted and will be shaved off. Excessive dematting is a painful, time-consuming and costly procedure that may cause extreme discomfort and can aggravate skin problems. When the pet is so heavily matted the hair must be clipped off. This then allows new healthy hair to grow. Excessive matting can be avoided with regular brushing and grooming appointments. Please ask if you need advice for the best brushes/combs and techniques on how best to help maintain your pets coat.

Matted cats will be shaved.

Aggressive pets

Most dogs simply tolerate and do not enjoy the grooming process, and they may show moderate signs of stress such as, lip licking, yawning, shaking, tail tucking and avoidance/wriggling. Dogs that exhibit higher levels of stress such as, inappropriate toileting, standing rigid, growling and severe vocalising may need smaller sessions or need to see a specialist to work on desensitisation. I do not use punishment to simply ‘get the job done’ as this often exacerbates any underlying behavioural/emotional conditions.

Cats

Cat grooming is highly risky as they have very sharp claws and teeth. They can be even more unpredictable to dogs. All cats will have their nails clipped before a groom. Matted cats will be shaved. Matted hair can cause bruising to the skin, excessive dry flakey skin, hide fleas, eggs and debris in the hair.

Cats stress very quickly and easily. If I think they are too stressed, the groom may be cut short and you will be called to collect whether they are finished or not. Another appointment will be made for another day to finish the groom.

Prices again are given as a rough FROM guide and may be more if matted, have fleas or need more grooms.

Fleas

I do not accept pets that have fleas. Please treat first (home as well as pet) then arrange a appointment. If fleas are found prior to bathing then you will be called to collect and then subject to a 100% fee of the appointment. If fleas are found in the bath/half way through the groom then a £10 charge will be added to the groom.
